The Buckland Destroyer

At the end of each season I usually reflect on a few things. Things like season highlights, what I've learnt, what flies have worked best for me, how can I buy more fly rods without being divorced, who lost the most of my flies (usually Justin)........ this reflective list goes on and on.

Tying has always been a passion of mine, and given the success of one particular fly this season, I thought I'd share it with you. That fly is the Buckland Destroyer.

I designed the Buckland Destroyer with 2 things in mind:
  1. To get down deep quickly
  2. To have enough "triggers" on it to entice a take from the bigger fish.

It's a bit fiddly to tie, but I have to say - the fish LOVE IT! Download the tying instructions below and enjoy tying some over winter.

Fish it as a deep dropper and start catching more fish :)

Cheers
Darren
